Bio:

The Greyscale clan is a bit of a oddity in Dwarven culture. While, like most Dwarfs, they still have a distinct enjoyment for mining and things of fine craftsmanship. They have also always been somewhat progressive in their thinking.

This thinking is what led them to be so heavily involved in Human civilization (for a Dwarf clan). Their love of fine craftsmanship also led them to the concept of Wealth, and they found they had lots of it. Humans not so much.

It was for this reason that they founded the only Dwarven bank. The name (unsurprisingly) is “The Greyscales Bank”. Banking is reasonably profitable. While they found it had a steady income, the problem was there were other banks as well so they had to remain competitive without digging to deeply into the pockets of their customers.

This is when they decided to venture into the realm of “Money Lending”. While initially a side business the Greyscales quickly discovered that if they were somewhat unconcerned with the background of their Clientele or the reason for the loan, they could dig very, very deep in the pockets of others.

The Greyscales provided funding to Arch Bishop Halon, who used the money to build the Temple of Light in the center of Aranmoor. They also gave money to the Lord Ferdinand to build his Halfling concentration camps.

At a young age Morel found he had a knack for being able to negotiate deals. Being young and idealistic he felt these deals were good for both the bank and the customer. When he found some of the contracts and money lending deals negotiated by his family in the past he went home, found his Axe, came back to work and proceeded to turn everything in his office into kindling. He then turned in his official resignation using the traditional Greyscale method. A traditional Greyscale resignation involves beheading a horse, depositing this head in front of the president of the bank (where ever that may be when you find him) and then turning it into a pulpy mess with a very large hammer as quickly as possible.

Morel was the First Greyscale to resign in over a hundred years, and did so in the presidents bedchamber, at 2:30am, in the presence of his Wife and Concubine. After spreading a not-so-thin red paste over everythinng in the room he took his pack, his Axe, and left the city and wondered off to find himself.
